Vision 2030

Pigeon Forge First Church

Vision 2030

A New Vision for an Older Church

We trust that Vision 2030 is a God-given vision for our church’s future. Pigeon Forge First Church has been worshipping in our present location since our current building opened in 1921. It is one of the oldest remaining commercial buildings in Pigeon Forge and is the oldest church building still in use in the City of Pigeon Forge- located in the heart of the city and adjacent to the Old Mill Historic District.

Vision 2030 involves preserving our historic sanctuary building as a place of worship well into the future. It also involves removing additions to the historic structure that were made in the 1970’s and 1980’s. These additions have served us well for many years, but are severely limited and not adequate to serve the needs of our members and guests in the future. With these additions removed, we can build a new three story, semi-detached building that will connect to both levels of our original sanctuary structure. This new addition will house a multi-purpose area for worship, church and community gatherings, children’s and youth ministries, space for hosting visiting mission groups, a Parent’s Day-Out Ministry, an area for classrooms, church offices, and a much needed elevator, stairwells and upgraded restrooms on all levels that will enable our facility to be fully accessible and accommodate all of our members and guests well into the future.

This is truly a “God-sized” vision and the expected costs are $1.5 million (today’s dollars) PLUS whatever expenses are necessary to restore the beauty and integrity of our original sanctuary building. Interested persons are invited to participate by making a contribution to the Vision 2030 Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Pigeon Forge. One time donations, 3, 5 or 10 Year Pledges to the Fund are welcomed. We encourage those who are so inclined to remember our Vision 2030 Fund in their Estate Planning. What a wonderful way for those generations who pass trom us to ensure that the church that has been such an important part of their lives will provide ministry in our community for those generations yet to come.

Our Vision 2030 is that we will be present here in the heart of Pigeon Forge for many years to come serving as an ambassador of our Lord Jesus Christ. We invite you to pray with us that this vision will come to pass.

“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,

It will not tarry.
