...the historic Pigeon Forge First Church

The 2020 Pigeon Forge Prayer March is a dedicated prayer march that is focused solely on asking God to heal our land. It is not a protest or political event, and we are asking participants to not bring signs in support of any candidate or party.  At each stop, we will pray silently using the focus and prompts for each location. After a set period of time, we will move on to the next stop. The march will begin at 4:30PM on September 26. It will proceed south along the Parkway, starting at Wears Valley Road. The march will cross the Parkway at Old Mill Drive, then north along the parkway where it will end at Wears Valley Road.  Parking and gathering for the march are at the Mountain Mile Shopping Center (formerly Belz Outlet Mall-corner of Teaster Lane and Wears Valley Road)  The duration of the march is about 2 hours. Those who are unable to join in for the entire march are invited to join for any portion of the march -no matter how small- anywhere along the route. For an information sheet, click "Info Center" above.

“America is in trouble. Our communities are hurting, our people are divided, and there’s fear and uncertainty all around us. Let’s join together and do the most important thing: pray!”  – Franklin Graham

You can contribute to our church’s ministry online- without ever having to leave your home. The following link, https://holston-reg.brtapp.com/ChurchOffering, has been set up for you to be able to donate directly to our church. Once you click on the link, you will fill out your name, address, phone, and email. Then, you will select your district (Smoky Mountain) from a drop down menu, and then select our church (First UMC- Pigeon Forge). Finally, you select the amount you would like to give and hit the blue button. This will take you to a screen where you can enter your debit/credit card information. The whole process takes about 1 minute. This option will go away when we resume meeting again, but for now, it is another option for you.

Our Doors are Open Again!

We are thrilled to announce the return of In-Person Worship in our Sanctuary at 11:00 on Sundays. Seating is limited, but overflow seating is available if needed so join us for worship if you can. Facemasks and social distancing are required. Guests will have their temperatures taken upon entering and are asked to sit in designated seats and asked not to sit with anyone of another household. If you can live with those limitations, please join us. Dress is casual and the fellowship is great.

Our Response to Corona Virus: Drive-In Worship

If you are not quite ready to gather in person for worship, then join us for Drive-In Worship. Until this pandemic storm passes, we will offer this alternative for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. If you would like to continue the practice of going to church on Sunday morning, park your vehicles in our parking lot, and from a platform outside, we will broadcast worship to you in your cars over FM 90.1. The signal will not go beyond our parking lot, so you need to be in our parking lot and it will be a little like a drive in theater.  If you would rather not get out at all or are unable to get out, join us at 11:00am for a livestream of our Sanctuary worship service.  Links will be available afterward for you to see a recording of worship on Vimeo or on this website.

We need some volunteers as we strive to keep our Sanctuary open for worship on Sundays. Each week we will need 5 persons to do tasks that are required of us until this pandemic passes.

Here are the needs:

    • One person to take attendance each Sunday
    • One person to take the temperature of each person entering. We will use a touchless thermometer.
    • Two people to serve on a Clean Team to make sure high touch areas are disinfected prior to worship
    • One person to serve as  a“Monitor” to help people to find the designated seats in the Sanctuary and to direct people to overflow seating in the Fellowship Hall if all places are taken in the Sanctuary.

These are simple tasks, but required tasks if we are going to have in-person worship in our Sanctuary. Twenty volunteers would be enough so that no one would ever need to serve more than once per month, so would you consider helping out? If you can help, call the church office (453-8333) or email the church (pffirstumc@gmail.com) and we will get you on the schedule.

Thank you for your help in doing these tasks.
